Match 12 of MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic was interrupted by a regional power outage.
All 11 players (6 teams) who were remaining in the match were disconnected and were unable to reconnect to finish playing the match.
The event officials have issued a rematch per the tournament rules.
The points earned in Match 12 before the interruption will be retained, and additional points will be awarded to the players who were affected by the disconnect.
The points from the rematch will also count toward the outcome of the tournament.
The tournament will have a total of 19 matches as opposed to 18.

Context

During Match 12 (Day 2 Match 6) of the MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic, a power outage occurred which impacted the venue and the surrounding area in Bangkok, Thailand. As a result, the players were disconnected from the match and were unable to reconnect to finish playing Match 12. With 11 players across 6 teams remaining, Match 12 was interrupted at 25:12 on the game timer. Per the official MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic tournament rules, a rematch may be issued if the referee determines that the match cannot be completed due to a technical difficulty. After evaluating the available information, the decision was made to restart the match in attempt to reconduct a stable and competitive match. While this rematch was taking place, PUBG Corporation and MET Events continued to gather and evaluate additional information to determine if the rematch was the most effective means to ensure the highest level of competitive integrity.

Ruling

After a thorough evaluation, PUBG Corporation and MET Events officials have agreed to both count the results from the rematch and retain the results from Match 12 up to the point when the power outage took place and award additional points to the remaining 6 teams. The administration determined that reflecting the performances of the teams in Match 12 by counting the accumulated points and awarding extra points would be fair since Match 12 was already nearing completion at the time of the interruption. The rematch should also be counted as it was conducted as an official match under equal conditions for every team as mandated by the event officials. To calculate the extra points to the disconnected players in Match 12, the same rules that have been used at all other PUBG Classics were applied: “Compensation Points (“CPs”) will be awarded in cases where a player experiences a critical disconnect that is not caused by the player. If more than one player on the same team experience a critical disconnect, CPs will be awarded for every critical disconnect.

A disconnect is considered critical if and only if the player is alive prior to the disconnect and:

The player is unable to reconnect to the game before the match is finished;
The player is dead before reconnecting to the game; or
The player is knocked down before reconnecting to the game and is unable to be revived.

* CPs are applied to the end of day results and never to a specific match. CPs should be added only to the total points and never to the Kill Points or Placement Points in any way.

To determine the number of Compensation Points:

Add a player's kills across all matches of the day excluding the player's lowest kill match of the day. If the player experienced more than one critical disconnect, exclude as many matches as the number of critical disconnects starting with the lowest kill match.
Divide by the number of matches of the day that the player did not experience a critical disconnect.
If this number is less than 1, round up to 1. If this is greater than 1, round to the nearest whole number.
Multiply by the number of critical disconnects to determine that player's total CPs for that match day.

*At least 1 and at most 4 CPs will be awarded for every critical disconnect. Results Per the above, the following compensation points have been applied:

Each of these teams will also share the 6th place finish and receive 2 Placement Points for Match 12. Since the CPs were designed to compensate not only for the potential kills but also for the potential climb in placement, and there is no sure way to predict how the remaining 6 teams would have placed in the match, every remaining team will receive only the 6th place points which have been earned. The Day 2 Match 6 results and overall standings after Day 2 have been adjusted to reflect this ruling.
